Is the Pretty Little Liars TV series okay for a 14 year old?

I'm 14 and Pretty Little Liars premieres in 4 minutes... I'm debating whether to watch it or not. I hear it's really frickin scary, and I hate scary movies with a pion (The Haunting in Connecticut, for example, made me not sleep for 3 days). Is it as scary as people say? Also, is it, like, really inappropriate? Tons of language, , stuff like that?
