Why do some people say that God is vengeful?

Listen to any christian, or read the bible. The christian fairy sends almost all people on the earth to hell. It offers "free will", and then punishes all those who use it. It destroyed its entire creation multiple times, and still sends almost all people to hell. Look up vengeful in the dictionary if you still do not get it.
