What history text book is used in schools nowadays?

I am curious about just what is being taught. I ask because I saw Jay Leno on the street interviewing school kids. One girl didn't know who Betsy Ross was; one said the face on the Antony dollar was Helen Keller. I can't remember the other questions, but I couldn't believe what I was seeing! I learned this before junior high. Surprisingly, their mothers were not doing much better at it.
