Wisdom and advice for an 18 year old guy?

Hello everyone. I'm an 18 year old guy who just graduated high school this month. I screwed up in high school quite gracefully, bad start and pretty good end but not good enough to goto college (except community). Besides college, I know there are other things like trade school, skilled laborm, military, travel, starting own business, etc etc. Do you have any real, concrete wise advice to survive AND prosper in the real world? I kno the economy is getting rough and all but yeah. I'm pretty clueless what to do next in my life but I'm not exactly cheerfully leaning towards college.
