In MTG: If I play "Chimeric Idol's" ability and it becomes attacking creature...?

When I declare Chimeric Idol an attacking creature (because I paid 0 and tapped all lands I control) if my opponent uses Mine-bearer's ability after I have stated Chimeric Idol is attacking, will Mine-Bearer's ability destroy Chimeric Idol? Or when Mine-bearer's ability goes on the stack, has Chimeric idol's ability not yet been resolved? (So Chimeric Idol would live?)
